On Oct. 27, 2011 the Fremont-Rideout Foundation paid homage to our donors with a special Evening of Appreciation dinner and event.

Everyone had an enjoyable time at Evening of Appreciation, where we celebrated another year of giving and gratitude.

The fantastic dinner and desert was catered by, Tiffany Montna-Williams, the new owner of the new Refuge Restaurant.

The event was not only a feast for the stomach — it was a feast for the eyes, too.

Our guests were amazed by the SPECTACULAR ambiance, which was created inside an unfinished storefront that began as nothing but a cement floor and bare, unfinished walls.

Lucky for us, local floral artist and event decorator, Kevin DeHoff of Country Florist, designed the venue. Kevin used orange, golden yellow and burgundy-red colors straight out of a lovely Fall landscape to set the mood. Giant topiaries and fanciful pumpkin chandeliers filled the space. And, gorgeous table settings featured a tapestry-style tablecloth, fall floral centerpiece and gold-ribbed table settings. Kevin helped us create a golden evening for everyone.

Our lighting artist Cecil Sarten of Chico Stage and Lighting was no slouch, his lighting design helped us set the mood for a fantastic evening. But, the evening couldn’t have happened at all without the loan of the building. Thank you Carol and New Earth Market.

Music and dance were on the program, too. Rick DeAguiar of ReMax Real Estate provided all of our beautiful background music and attendees were treated to a lovely Waltz from Greg Gomer and Jileen Menghini, the winners of our inaugural Dance with Our Stars Fundraiser. And, also a great big shout out to the Rotary Club of Yuba City members who were our bartenders. Sarb, Ryan, Karen, Joe and George — thank you!

Thank you so much donors for your continued support. Our patients and our community are truly blessed by all that you give and all that you do for the health of our community.

Evening of Appreciation Highlights

Evening of Appreciation was emcee’d by Foundation Vice President, Carol Ramirez and Board Chair, Darin Gale. FRHG CEO, Terri Hamilton welcomed all to the event.

There were some pretty incredible gifts made by the Foundation to FRHG and its facilities and programs fiscal year 2010/2011. Here are some of the highlights:

  • The Rideout Memorial Hospital Foundation gifted $167,000 to purchase Wireless EKG equipment that can now be found in all Bi-County Ambulances. Bi-County contributed an equal share to ensure total coverage to the Yuba-Sutter area. This equipment not only can save lives by allowing patient data to be sent to the ED, while still en route, it supported Rideout’s new designation as a STEMI Receiving Center, certified to handle even the most serious heart attacks.
  • Also at Rideout, the Foundation funded the refurbishment of the Same Day Surgery Patient Rooms, and sponsored the Emergency Department’s EMS Day and Disaster Drill.
  • In the Pediatrics Dept., new Veinlite LEDs were donated. This will save our tiniest patients extra poking when they need an IV.
  • For The Fountains, our Skilled Nursing Center, which houses our extensive Physical Rehabilitation facility, more than $3,000 was gifted for a putting green for our unique Outside Mobility Course. A Karaoke Machine for the Activities Dept., and a new Activities Cart and Recreation supplies were also purchased.
  • Proceeds from a previous endowment by Roy and Peggy miller paid for another year of salary and benefits for the Quality of Life Attendant, Poppy Atwal, who serves residents at The Fountains.
  • At The Gardens, our Alzheimer’s and Special Care Facility, we installed a new $5,000 sound system for the new wing.
  • At The Courtyard, our beautiful Assisted Living Complex, the Foundation funded a new Automatic Entry System for the Main Doors, and refurbished the furniture and other décor in the Lobby.
  • For Fremont-Rideout Hospice the Foundation provided Discretionary Financial Assistance for Hospice patients, staff education, a Lights of Remembrance Memorial Event for Hospice Families and Transportation for 11 kids who had lost a loved one so that they could attend Camp HUG (Hospice Understands Grief).
  • For the Fremont-Rideout Cancer Center, the Foundation provided nearly $50,000 for new lobby furnishings, staff education and Discretionary Fund financial assistance for cancer patients, and sponsored the annual Cancer Survivor celebration.
  • The Foundation’s Financial Aid & Scholarship Program awarded: Six scholarships to area high school and college students ($6,000); Three Dorothy Wisner Teen Leadership Scholarships ($6,000); Two Janice Frank Nursing Leadership Scholarship Awards to Will Morrell-Stinson, RN, Rideout & Krista Minton, RN, Fremont; and Employee Educational Loans ($16,000+)
  • The Foundation provided support for Fremont-Rideout Teen Leadership Council, 36 high school students interested in medical and healthcare related careers. TLC raised more than $2000 with a newspaper recycling fundraiser sponsored by the Appeal-Democrat and Recology Yuba-Sutter
  • The Foundation supported the Vial of Life program, the Pink October employee fundraiser, the 8th Annual Bless Your Heart Walk & Health Fair and hosted the groundbreaking for the Cancer Center Expansion.
  • The grand total for all of the gifts above: $310,000.
